c. Description of my case / description of your mod entry:

Idea
When my fantastic EIZO FlexScan T68 died I felled very sorry since we already have been friends through 8 years where the EIZO FlexScan T68 monitor have given me the best pictures I ever have seen on a monitor. So I thought this should not be the end of my great EIZO so my imagination was questioned how could I still get anything out of my old monitor, even if it not could deliver any pictures anymore?

Since I like to have a PC case with my one touch I thought it could be nice to make a complex monitor case mod where both PC and LCD monitor is installed in one unit. This was the beginning of my EIZO FlexScan T68 Analog LCD case mod project, where you could see the LCD monitor through the acrylic glass I have build into the front of my old monitor.

h. Air flow:

I have installed some FANs in the EIZO Complexity Case Mod 2009 to increase the air flow.

I only measured the temperature by hand and it did not fell any hot! Also the “Monitor” has a meshed surface –
which allows air both seep in / out.

But there will always be some areas with less air flow like in a normal PC case in this case I’m a little concerned
about the area around the hard drives.

I have installed some 80 mm FANs in the EIZO Complexity Case Mod 2009 to increase the air flow
also I have installed a 92 mm exhaust FAN in the top of the monitor mod.

I love this mod!

The fusion between the old monitors and now a whole computer in this space!!, you are not going to paint the monitor in any color right? I think it looks nice like that.

How is your temps?

Really great mod! congrats!

Hi petoscal

Thanks for your words - nice you like my case mod!

Yes. The good thing is that I now got more space on me desk since I not need an external monitor.

Also one thing I did not mention before is the weight of the "Cooler Master Complexity 2009" is less than the original EIZO FlexScan T68 monitor.

Temperature readings from BIOS (PC Health Status)
System Temperature 41^C
CPU Temperature 39^C
CPU FAN Speed 1650 RPM

A lot of heat is coming out of the top of an LCD monitor - this you easily could feel by putting your hand on top of your own LCD monitor. So I here have installed an 92 mm exhaust FAN in top of the monitor.

Image

There is a lot of FANs installed the reason for this is that FANs like to be run at low speed. Nearby all FANs have a point from this on they get really bad noisy. So more FANs at low speed is better than less FANs at high speed.

No. I will not paint it since then the EIZO will lose its original touch.

Great Object Mod! True, with this type of mods you should not alter the original appearance IMO too. The hard part is cramming a full pc setup in the spaces and yes, besides being spacious inside, they weighed a ton! Wait a sec, I already commented this same thing in another thread. Is this a ver 2.0? Because it went over the top with the lcd screen!

BTW I use the term "object mod" for anything that is modded that is not a computer case (radio, tv set, r/c car, even a trash can turned into an R2D2!). I think it takes a lot of meticulous planning to do them but yours has besides a superb visual "punch". Kudos! and Good Luck!

Cheers and Saludos,

You arrived in the nick of time for the original deadline.

Hi PaPang

Yes. This is an new (Uprising - in Command & Conquer terms) version of my case mod, since now I also have installed an LCD in front of the monitor mod.

Under point l. Video: in my Worklog you could see a video of the new version and a video of the previous version.

Also worth to mention is that regarding to the contest rules
http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/microsite/mod_contest09/rules.php

3. ...; please start a new thread even if you have posted information regarding your mod before).

This is the reason to I not updated my old Worklog.
