MY GEAR (HAF932 CASE MOD)

Postby rikuntyudady on Tue Apr 26, 2011 8:36 pm

This is the most favorite PC case for me.
It made it to customizing that did not destroy as original a design as possible.
I'm sorry when wrong because I'm Japanese, and it is not good at English.

It ditches it to the reception desk part with an acrylic cutter.
Image
Image

"EL Wire" is installed according to the ditch.
Image

The power supply is supplied from fan controller with fan connector.
Image

It was lit.
It emits light uniformly.
Image

The mesh part in the reception desk is painted on the orange.
Image

"Knight flasher" is introduced into 5.25-inch bay.
This LED can choose the illumination pattern of the number of patterns including the reciprocation work right and left.
Image

The mesh part of the bay cover is detached, and the acrylic piece of the smoke-color is installed.
Image

The film label that prints the logo on an acrylic piece of the transparency is put on the other side.
The logo comes to the surface when shone on from the other side with LED.
Image

The I/O panel part in the reception desk is customised.
Image

Image

Tape LED and the acrylic piece are used also for the other side here.
Image

Image

It becomes it like this when lighting.
Image

The power supply of fan controller who is controlling the power supply of the illumination is turned on and can be turned off with this touch switch.
It lights by only the illumination whose fan controller's switch is turning on touching this switch.
Image

The logo in the lock part in 5.25-inch bay is painted.
Image

When the emery paper is put after the whole is painted in white, paints remain only in the logo part.
Image
Image

The base in the lock part is painted on the orange.
Image

The HDD mounter is similarly processed.
Image

It installed it.
The PCI cover is painted on the orange.
Image

The side panel is made with the acrylic bord.
The acrylic bord is stopped by installing the board of the metal in the center, and using the hinge for here.
It is possible to open by this like the door.
Image
Image
Image

LED of the memory cooler is exchanged, and the main body is painted.
The black one is sold now.
Image
Image
Image

State of lighting.
The acrylic piece that prints the film label is installed in the hole for wiring in the upper part of the mother board.
Image

Customizing of reception desk fan cover.
Image
Image
Image
Image

Because the side panel was made an acrylic bord, the back side of 5.25-inch bay is concealed.
Image

It used "3M DI-NOC Carbon"
Image

Image

Image

It's done.

Thanks. :)

【Extra】
Tape LED is installed along an acrylic window of the side panel of normality.
Image

When the label that prints the logo is pasted or the character is written with a fluorescent marker …
Image

It is possible to make a hand-written character come to the surface.

Ok! One of the few mods I have seen from Japan, kudos for registering & showing your wares! Very respectable build with a lot of fine details, and yes, the HAF is a fine case, I have one too but is still boxed because I am still figuring out what to do with it (going on 2 years so I admit I still don't know what to do, hehe). I lean more to scratch builds but I definitely have to do something with mine.

Best of Luck!

rikuntyudady, great case mod. Took me a bit to find the mod again. I was looking at modding a side window on my HAF X with a HAF 932 side window but cutting it larger to show more of my machine when I add my water cool. Then I thought about opening it more and remembered your side panel mod. One question I have right now which isn't about the side window is about the two mods you did to conceal the 5.25 bay and PSU area. I see you used 3M DI-NOC Carbon as a covering material but what did you use to create the actual forms? Looks like some kind of plastic. Thanks

Thank you for your comments.
I have to apologize for the reply having become very late first to you.

The acrylic board is used for 5.25 inch bay hiding or power supply hiding as your imagination.
Image

Those parts are cut into the form of a character, and it clips like a window, and is illuminating by LED from the reverse side.
In the back side, if milky acrylics is used, light will be emitted finely.
Image

If the label etc. which were printed on milky acrylics are stuck, a character will appear.
Image
Although this is a picture of "DF-85" which I created, the printed label is stuck on the portion of PSU hiding.
Moreover, 5.25inch bay hiding has cut "3M DI-NOC" into the form of a character.

Thanks for the response. No worries on the delay. It looked like acrylic but I couldn't tell. I'm actually in the begging stages of cutting mine and went with poly carbonate. Didn't see much difference in price but the poly is stronger. Won't be quite as rad as yours but will make a nice cover and accent the MB/water cooling area.

Had a question. For the life of me I can't remember what it was called but I had a Thermaltake case that came with a kit that you could print designs on transparent sheets and such that would be illuminated through an led strip. Did you make all of yours or was there a kit of some type that allows one to create the transparent designs to be lite up. I tried to search for something like it but haven't really found anything. Might do something like that on the two modded covers but that would be it. Not daring enough to really cut into my case. Thanks.

I did not know the kit of such Themaltake.
Although it is imagination, are they EL wire or EL sheet?
If it turns on electricity, there is the wire or sheet which emits light.
