Gigabyte 6600gt

I have this Gigabyte 6600gt graphics card which i purchased some time ago now ..........it has two 40 mil fans ..........i have had no problems with this card in all the time i have had it ....except it is b......y....noisey...in fact it is very noisey. last night i decided to try out a test........i unplugged the fans . and WOW.....my machine with its 7 other coolermaster fans went silent...........But the temperatures went up by nearly half ...Now my question is is it possible to replace these fans i cannot find any infomation on the gigabyte web site....so i thought you guys might help..........thanx in advance

those little fans can be quite annoying. unless it's a standard case fan installed on the heatsink, you'll
have to purchase a new cooler. atm, Arctic Cooling offers the best bang for the buck coolers and they are passively cooled!

Make sure they align the mounting holes of your card!

I am sorry .....iforgot to mention the said card has 2 gpu`s the artic cooler does look good but not for my card ....Is there a cooler which will cover both gpu`s.....Here is a picture of the card......http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles/vi ... =3&id=1390

holy snap, I never saw that before. you're pretty much stuck with it I guess because that dual GPU design seems exclusive to Gigabyte.
You'll have better luck to just strap on an 80mm fan to it, or consider buying the Zalman FB123 (for its bracket): http://www.zalman.co.kr/ENG/product/Pro ... sp?Idx=226

Thanx Zenphic .......i had this feeling i would have to do something like you suggested.......when i waded throught maybe 50 different sites looking for a suitable solution.....i have a twin 80mm...bracket which would or could be made to solve my noisey card.......thanx again for the help
